Abstract: Image authentication is a process to indicate its authenticity and origin of the image. In this paper we propose image
compression with image content authentication. From our experimental results, the technology provides a unique signature for
every processed image. We can use the unique signature to confirm if the image is modified easily with image compression
technique.

I. INTRODUCTION
Digital Images have been widely used in many areas
such as military, government sectors, hospitals, forensic
science etc. If the modification or duplication is
unauthorized then it is illegal. The Image digest is
encrypted using such cryptographic techniques as
public-key encryption
A. Problems with Image Authentication
The excelling technology of today’s world highresolution
image editing tools has made altering images very simple. In many cases alterations don’t leave any clues
that the image has been altered. All image authentication
techniques are sorted into two types: Watermarking and
Digital Signature scheme[13][14], each scheme has its own
advantages and disadvantages. Manipulation technique
amenable to analysis involves primarily alteration and
composition. Altering is the changing of the image features
through the use of artistic means [6][11], the example
shown in Figure 1.
